A concrete-free, durable paving brick created sustainably with recycled plastic waste
In 2022 alone, Ecuador generated 627,000 tons of municipal plastic waste. It is also the third biggest recipient of plastic waste from the United States in Latin America, importing more than 48,000 tons between 2018 and 2022.
NWC is helping to tackle Ecuador’s refuse crisis by working in partnership with local manufacturers to create sustainable products. Made from recycled waste, our durable fence posts outperform traditional wooden fencing, offering a long-term cost saving for end users.
Key features
Made from 100% recycled materials
Anti-corrosive and extremely durable, maintaining good condition for decades

Immune to insect pests, fungi and bacteria that destroy wood
Does not crack or splinter; ideal for equestrian/livestock use and many other agricultural applications
Easy to work with; similar to machining natural wood
High density, suitable for use with mechanical post drivers
Durability of plastic results in long-term cost savings
Composition
Our fence posts are made from 100% recycled plastic material, including polypropylene (PP), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The characteristics of these plastics prevent the fence posts from deteriorating through exposure to the elements or contact with water, as well as inhibiting any bacterial growth.
Depending on the type, plastic takes approximately 100 to 1000 years to decompose . For example, PET takes around 500 years to disintegrate, while polyethylene bags only decompose by about 0.5% in 100 years. The durability of plastic means that the useful life of our fence posts is expected to be significantly longer than even chemically treated wood.
